The demand for enhanced and inclusive road safety is becoming more critical than ever as societies face key challenges of increased urbanization, aging populations, and disruptive technologies while at the same time the numbers of road accidents and injuries remain high.
To be able to deal with these challenges, research is needed to develop knowledge on inclusive and safe road design, safe integration of heterogeneous road users, and inclusive road safety policies. This requires interdisciplinary and innovative research which combines different types of knowledge, data, and methods. The main theme of the conference addresses this issue.
